JXVE - YUSUKE!

Ohio hit maker JXVE delivers with the anime influenced sad song “YUSUKE!”.  As JXVE’s final solo song released in 2022, “YUSUKE!”, is a beautiful finale to a successful year. Between solo music and collaborations JXVE continues to feed and grow his fanbase further. One of JXVE’s biggest releases of 2022 was his collaboration with Paycheck “SUCKER4PAIN” which currently has over a million streams on Spotify.

“YUSUKE!” is another gut punching song addressing JXVE internal pains and struggle similar to his other releases such as “RN I’m Crashing” and “I really really really really miss you”. Each releases JXVE improves in an almost uncanny way, the only explanation being his passion and work ethic outweighs majority of other artists.

Many lyrics throughout the track reference the popular anime/manga YuYu Hakusho whose main character is the inspiration behind the name of “YUSUKE!”. One of the lines during the chorus: “You always point the finger Yusuke” being a double entendre. During the chorus JXVE is referencing a past lover who always passed the blame without taking responsibility. At the same time JXVE references the Yusuke signature attack in the anime where he projects an energy blast through pointing with his finger as a gun.

The chorus describes an unhealthy relationship that ended up deteriorating leaving JXVE heartbroken. Vocally during the hook JXVE delivers a powerful melodic performance. Despite many of JXVE’s biggest songs being singing based, JXVE flex’s his rapping ability in the verses. Using innovative flows and relatable lyrics, JXVE curates another incredible song with “YUSUKE!”

On February 24th 2023 JXVE released the enticing music video for “YUSUKE!”, directed by Nicholas Siegel. This would be the first official music video released by JXVE since the visual for “I Really Really Really Really Miss You”. The music video for “YUSUKE!” uses the absence of color to mirror the emptiness in JXVE heart. At the same time JXVE and his outfit are one of the few consistent components not black and white, ensuring JXVE stays the focal point throughout.

Trippy visuals and clever references to the YuYu Hakusho anime combine to design an eye catchy video. One part of the video shows JXVE performing the song with twisted stairs circling behind him, flashing to JXVE isolated in the dark. One potential interpretation of these scenes could be the many convoluted paths ahead of JXVE after the breakup as well his numbness from loss.

JXVE currently sits at around 60,000 monthly on Spotify alone. If you enjoyed reading about his music, deadEGOS has released three previous articles about JXVE. Read the other below.
