Faaris & McCASLIN - Clueless

Texas rapper Faaris connects with Washington engineer/singer McCASLIN with the catchy pop rap track titled “Clueless”.  The melody is delivered with an energy reminiscent of early 2000 hit pop songs. As the song begins a guitar starts, followed by drums and bass dropping to boost the instrumental to match the powerful performances of both artists.

The chorus of the song has enticing vocals with falsettos and creative flows. “Clueless” is a love song that captures the moment where a room of people dancing, melts away because of the person dancing with you. Some funk influence is show in the song with inflection on parts of the vocals in the hook.

Lyrics from the chorus such as: “You got me thinking bout what I got to lose” shows a familiar bittersweet feeling of falling love while healing from trauma. Many souls feel numb from time to time with life’s responsibilities weighing down heavy, love can alleviate the weight and lift your spirit up. Falling in love can be awkward at times because in private the mask of society can drop.

A dreamy confidence surrounds the room as the rap verse flows around the fifty second mark. Throughout the verse lyrics continue the theme established in the chorus. When two souls connect on a deep level it comes naturally, lyrics reflect this such as:  “You don’t have to try. You got me clueless”.

Half way through, another rap verse drops in. Lyrics describes further and further lengths willing to be taken to please the artist love interest. “Type of girl I want to give her everything she chooses. Sweeter than desert and the pudding is where the proof is”. A playful twist on the common idiom the proof is in the pudding. Throughout the verse’s lyrics adoration towards their lover shines bright.

“Clueless” by Faaris and McCASLIN is an enjoyable ride the entire song. Faaris currently has just under 30,000 monthly Spotify listeners while McCASLIN has 8,500+ monthly on Spotify himself. Both artists being break out talents that have much to deliver to their growing audiences.
