Kato on the Track, The Real Samson, Jarren Benton - Nancy
The Real Samson releases an energetic, tongue in cheek song titled “Nancy” with popular underground rapper Jarren Benton and billboard charting producer Kato on the Track. “Nancy” is a hype-shock rap song which name drops multiple politicians including Nancy Pelosi.
In 2022 The Real Samson did a duet on Tik Tok to a beat by Kato on the Track going viral and gaining over six million views. Unfortunately the original video is removed from the platform and The Real Samson’s account is currently banned. Determined to see the song to fruition despite setbacks, and being strangers, Kato on the Track reached out to The Real Samson to turn the viral snippet into a full song.
Currently sitting at around 30,000 monthly Spotify listeners, this is the second moment The Real Samson experienced going viral. Originally going viral four years ago when The Real Samson posted a fast paced comedic McDonald’s rap. A repost of the video was shared online by multiple celebrities including Snoop Dogg and Cypress Hill.
On the other hand, Kato on the Track is a billboard charting producer who has worked with multiple high profile artists including Tyga, Snoop Dogg and Jack Harlow. Through 2012 to 2016 he was signed as the in-house producer for Hopsin’s independent label Funk Volume. During 2020 Kato on the Track went viral with Reyanna Marie gaining over 10 millions view on Tik Tok for a song called “So Pretty”.
Jarren Benton first worked with Kato on the Track on the popular horrocore song “Skitzo” prior to the two of them signing to Funk Volume. Known for his jaw dropping lyrics, Jarren Benton inclusion on The Real Samson’s new song “Nancy” is met with instant chemistry.
“Nancy” is lyrically a funhouse mirror of the same funny cinematic storytelling of early Eminem. The song starts tame with The Real Samson referencing watching the news, feeling politically divided and economic struggles. Forty seconds into the song the original viral snippet drops alongside the bouncy instrumental.
As “Nancy” is a streamed, a movie will play through your headphones. As an authentic entertainer The Real Samson eases back and forth between outlandish bars to moments of truth. For example he referenced how politicians use insider info for profit as well as Nancy Pelosi’s husband’s DUI.
