FIVE6IX - NEEDTOBREATHE

FIVE6ix returns from a two year musical hiatus with the powerful “NEEDTOBREATHE”.  With only five songs out, FIVE6ix currently retains 24,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.  The most popular song in his small discography “All Dogs Go to Heaven” currently has close to two and half million streams on Spotify alone.

“NEEDTOBREATHE” is FIVE6IX returning to form with soulful R&B melodies laced in the short yet impactful song. Psychedelic pop influences breathe throughout the two minute track while being highlighted by FIVE6IX’s soft, low vocal register.

Lyrically “NEEDTOBREATHE” describes a cycle of over encompassing love. When life’s anxiety meets the bittersweet wanderlust of wanting more, that’s the crossroad FIVE6IX’s music meets at. Using poetic lines to describe a relationship he feels undervalued in. The type of love that got you “working long overtime and out of time”. Comparing his changing nature in his view towards his love with the changing seasons.

The instrumental feels more like a band playing with FIVE6IX than your average modern day rap beat. Primarily a drum set, the song mostly consists of different kicks with a soft hi hat melody. Near the end of the song a guitar solo plays mirroring the same spontaneous fire burning in two lovers star locked eyes.

One of the first tractions in media promoting FIVE6IX was by popular YouTuber PatrickCc: who currently has over one million subscribers. On Instagram with only a few over 2000 followers, FIVE6IX is a shinning example of quality over quantity. One of the followers of FIVE6ix instagram is popular producer duo Take A Daytrip, who has produced charting songs with Juice WRLD, Lil Nas X and Kid Cudi.

Produced and engineered by FIVE6ix himself, “NEEDTOBREATHE” will quickly become your new winter time favorite song. Between the enduring vocals enticing the listener and the trippy visualizer on YouTuber, this song will be on repeat after the first play.
