Garr - Haystack

Garr is an upcoming indie pop artist whose sound echoes country-folk heartbroken stories blended with melodic hip-hop elements. The first viral moment from Garr that caught this writer’s attention was an action done by a rising YouTuber. Patrick Cc: used his platform to lift up Garr’s music.

With a song over 500,000 streams and current monthly listeners close to 30,000 on Spotify alone, Garr released his newest creation titled “Haystack”. Similar in vein thematically to more songs in Garr’s discography, love and pain weigh heavy through his introspective lyrics.

During the chorus Garr describes the feeling of not receiving help when you need it the most, feeling lost: “Like a needle in a haystack. Throw away the key, I can’t erase that.”

Immediately after the song talks about a past love that confided trust into Garr only for some level of betrayal. Garr wonders if the relationship was a once in a life time moment; in a way it’s own needle in a haystack.

Garr wrote and produced the song as well as directed the music video. The visuals are quick shots reflecting Garr’s emotional well being with a small town backdrop. Whether driving with no destination, washed in waves at the beach or at farmhouse barn: Garr is isolated and alone.
