JXVE & Thrizzy - Take You Back

Future superstars JXVE and Thrizzy link together for their newest song “Take You Back”. For JXVE this follows his collab with Lil Uber as well as his 2022 heartbreak hits “I.R.R.R.R.M.Y.” and “RN I’m Crashing”. In similar vein “Take You Back” wears the emotions of both artists on their sleeves.

“Take You Back” is a song reminiscing over a past love, longing for the lost connection back. JXVE’s vocal performance on the hook is extremely catchy, while using a vibrato similar to Post Malone and Kid Laroi. Vocally trembling while keeping in pitch to express his emotional state.

The instrumental is subtle with a background drum beat as the vocal performances are the highlight of the song. JXVE and Thrizzy both taking turns in the two verses to express a hopeless romantic mindset.

In the first verse JXVE looks back on the end of the relationship. Near the second half of his verse his vocals soften and he hits a falsetto as if to mirror breaking point someone would be when searching for closure. The mental state someone willing to “trade it all” just to see them again.

Thrizzy handles the second verse. Lyrically his verse is moments after grieving a past relationship. With distance of loved ones, the pedestal in your head they were on starts to crumble. As time goes on you begin to see the flaws your affection for them hid from your view. Sometimes the person you want doesn’t want the new you that was born from the heartache.

“Told me you want me back, but there’s too many strings attached”.

“Take you Back” is a beautiful pop song describing the grieving process of a relationship ending.
